Wednesday Morning Bible Study Will Resume on September 23, 2026

In September our small group Bible Study will resume. We will continue using Pentateuch I as a sort of “cliffnote” guide. It is available on Amazon for $16. (If you do not have an Amazon account, a book can be ordered for you by contacting the parish office.)

The last session focused on Genesis, in September we will begin with Exodus. Genesis ends with the death of Joseph (the one with the brightly colored coat). As the coffin of Joseph was safely hidden away in Egypt, generations passed in peace and harmony while the family of Israel prospered. Exodus picks up about 400 years later: Israel’s family has grown from 70 members to millions; and there is a new and very hostile king who disregarded Joseph’s saving legacy of Egypt.  [The point being that Genesis is not a prerequisite to studying Exodus]

We meet on Wednesday mornings from 8:45 for about 90 minutes. Everyone is welcome to join; there are no written tests, no prerequisites other than a desire to learn more about a small part of God’s written word. You will also need a Catholic Bible. The Scripture texts referenced in the book, Pentateuch I, are from the New American Bible revised edition, but any Catholic Bible edition is good.
